V8 (2020)
Ya ya ya ya ya
Keep the Hot Boy with me, I got love for BG
The feds tryina lock me up like the BG
I told my old lady if they do she could leave
She say "Bae shut the fuck up you sound brazy"
"That shit gon' work out like it's personal trainin"
I say "Amen!" oh and she say "Fuck yeah!"
CONTEXT FROM THE FUTURE: I originally posted this the day Wayne finessed his presidential pardon, so it was a time to celebrate.
And it all worked out.
In this section of the song, Wayne touches on the past, present, and future of his life and gives us a look into each one.
First, he pays homage to his past, to his former associate, and his old lifestyle, and reminds the audience that that past will always be with him. He then contrasts that past life with what he's facing in the present, specifically his legal issues. Luckily, he has someone who can help him maintain an optimistic outlook on the future, and he comes away assured that things will work out one way or another. I'm actually curious though if she came up with the personal training line or if it's all Wayne as always.
It's not his most mind-blowing work, but I felt today was a day to acknowledge current events in whatever way I could.
