When in hell, I'm a Roman
Head on fire, I'ma comb it (comet)
Heater by my ab - domen
And you know it

Man I'm all about my business
Business handle business for me
I know you know life a bitch
I turned her to a business woman
Mind your business -

This was another eye opener for me. The first line is a simple metaphor for him being tough during tough times, but then he takes the image of the plume on a Roman helmet and equates it to fire. Now that his head is on fire, he still doesn't give a fuck and just combs it. BUT, if you imagine Wayne's hair on fire, you can easily imagine a comet, and the way he morphs the word abdomen in the next line hints at the fact that the previous line ended with a similarly morphed "comet" rather than "comb it." Again, I don't think you can come up with something like this if you take the time to put your thoughts on paper first. It has to be spoken before being written.

The second half is some more classic Weezy. The uninitiated would probably use it as an example of his "lack of vocabulary," but just like his verse on Freaky Side, he takes a single word and squeezes as much semantic value out of it as possible, and on many occasions gives it new meaning. As an aside, I believe this aspect of Wayne's lyricism is why he's credited with "birthing" new generations of rappers, because he shows them how to find new meaning in what they already know. If you ask someone to give you another word for "gun" how many people will say "business"?
