This one hit different all of a sudden. There's always an element of uncertainty or even mystery around whether or not Wayne is describing true events, but this time he's on some prophecy shit. To me, these bars are an example of him being true to his word, regardless of whether or not what he's doing is "acceptable". On some level, this builds my trust in everything else he describes in his lyrics, no matter how outlandish it may seem. Like parties on January 1st 👀
The part about the wifey is a bit of a non-sequitur, but it's fairly normal for Mixtape Weezy. If it rhymes and sounds good, it's in. It's also entirely possible there's a connection I'm just not good enough to see. The king and cards metaphor is on point though, and the last line feels extra true in this current era of Lil Wayne. It always feels like he doesn't get the credit he deserves. But just wait 🙏
