My name Dwayne Michael Carter

Nigga, walk this way
And I'ma paint yo ass
Like a art display

I'm really rich, I just talk this way
And maybe if you get rich, you would talk this way

See, right now I'm talkin foreign
Ya dig? I'm talkin foreign

Leave a hole in the boy
Big enough to park a car in

You're on but you aint on it
I'm mo' on like Warren
Moon, Boom, now my bitch talkin for me

I wasn't going to include the first couple of lines at first, but the funeral connection with yesterday's entry had me tickled. If nothing else, it's a sign that parts of his mentality have remained unchanged for over a decade, and a dedicated listener can know what's coming, and can expect further exploration of old topics.

What I really wanted to focus on is the part about the way he talks. He can afford so much foreign shit that he can even afford to talk foreign. He acknowledges that people question his delivery, or his general presentation, and in my experience people sometimes don't understand what he's saying at all. I once had to explain to a friend that Nina isn't a person. So I have to ask myself, how much more are people missing? What do they see when he talks about an art display? Do they understand where the hole in the boy is coming from, and why it's so big? I'm sure after 13 years these specific things aren't as much of a mystery, but I don't think the complaints about the way he talks have faded away. I would wager that a lot of people understand even less of what he's saying now.

All that to say, if you ever find yourself not liking the way he talks, consider getting rich.
